Sumo 2squirrel_sumo-2-cartoon-image

The SUMO 2 builds on the success of the original SUMO, incorporating feedback from our team pilots and customers. Whether your tracking mission is to develop wingsuit skills or to progress in the BASE environment, the SUMO 2 is the answer. This new design is ideal for entry level trackers or for experienced trackers who prefer a two-piece suit. If you are an experienced tracker looking for the maximum in range and glide, we recommend the SAUSAGE.

The SUMO 2 is a direct evolution of its predecessor. It features similar overall volume, but we have refined the aerodynamics for reduced drag by changing the inlet shape and positioning, and optimizing the location of the leg wing thickness. A new inlet design yields less drag, more efficient air-input, and makes the suit back-fly and free-fly capable.

Thanks to a slicker and more agile feel, the SUMO 2 is easier to control in steeper track angles and is overall a more forgiving yet higher performance design. Jumpers with SUMO experience will instantly notice that the SUMO 2 settles into a naturally steeper and more efficient angle, and is easier to transition from flat to steep AoAs.

The Squirrel No-Wobble System has been carried forward from the original SUMO, as it has proven to provide a level of precision that set the SUMO apart from other two piece designs. The NWS is optional, but, when used, gives a compact and precise feel in tracking maneuvers.

Overall, the SUMO 2 provides what we think is the ultimate balance between volume and stability, and is the perfect choice for a first tracking suit. The SUMO 2 is built to the same high standard that has made Squirrel wingsuits the benchmark for quality in our sport.

Sausagesquirrel_sausage-image_cartoon

The SAUSAGE is our one-piece tracking suit. You asked for it, so here it is. The SAUSAGE is a versatile and easy-to-use suit that excels in the BASE environment. It is primarily a tool for BASE applications, and is a capable weapon in the hands of experienced trackers – its performance has been proven at short starts and long glides around the world.

Jumpers who have been suiting-up with two piece suits for a while will love how easy it is to gear up on the exit point or at the DZ – just throw it over your shoulders and don’t forget your leg straps. Experienced BASE trackers will love its quick inflation and start characteristics, and the range and power available. The SAUSAGE is stable through steep and flat angles of attack, and back-flies nicely.

What sets the SAUSAGE apart from other onesies is the careful attention to design and manufacturing details, and the resulting compactness and agility in the air. A refined inlet system, improved pressurization, a more precise and powerful feel, and added features for equipment storage all combine for a nice balance of performance and ease of use. This suit is designed for trackers with at least a full season of experience; if you are new to tracking, or to BASE, we recommend starting with the SUMO 2.

The Squirrel philosophy that important features shouldn’t be costly options applies to all of our products. 5.10 rubber, a Carbon Aerojack hook knife, and all storage pockets are included in the price when you order your SAUSAGE.

Featuressquirrel_sausage_image

  • Show up Blow Up- The SAUSAGE is powered by a bi-directional, low profile inlet that provides rapid inflation and solid internal pressure for quick starts and a precise feel.
  • Innie-Outie – The SAUSAGE Innie-Outie allows you to place the front of your BASE harness inside the suit for a slick front-surface.
  • It’s A Cinch – A Velcro / cam-clamp system at the heel creates a bomb-proof closure, for running, back-flying, and free-flying.
  • Sticky Soles – 5.10 rubber is included in the price on all orders. The Squirrel philosophy is: If you need it, then it shouldn’t cost extra.
  • Slices – The SAUSAGE comes standard with the Carbon AeroJack hook knife, mounted on the exterior in the ideal location for BASE jumping,

Hatchsquirrel_hatch_cartoon

The HATCH is a versatile suit that is ideal for absolute beginners, yet provides endless fun for even the most expert acro pilots and free-flyers. The HATCH exemplifies the philosophy that fun = easy, and easy = fun.

The new HATCH is the easiest and most comfortable suit that we have ever flown, and we love seeing students tear up the skies on their first flights in this suit as much as we enjoy backflying and cloud-carving with it, ourselves.

The HATCH retains all of the safety and performance features that Squirrel suits have become renowned for, including the RAD system, tri-layer leading edge construction, innie-outie zips, and reinforced inlets.

Thanks to the RAD system, the HATCH requires no cutaway cables and allows direct access to your risers and brakes during and after deployment. This is a critical safety feature that no wingsuit should be without. The HATCH leading edge construction is our signature blend of comfort and performance, with a smooth surface in positions of best glide, and unparalleled comfort and access at pull-time.

Although it is basically the easiest wingsuit out there, the HATCH is not just a beginner suit. It’s fun, agile, and versatile. More experienced wingsuit pilots searching for a low-surface area suit for backflying, acrobatics, angle flying, and flocking applications will love the range and comfort of the HATCH.

For pilots and instructors who are searching for the absolute maximum in ease of use for their first jumps and beyond, the HATCH is the answer.

Featuressquirel_hatch_iamge

  • Force Feed – Our reinforced inlet, with maximum intake to drag ratio. The Funk features a lower profile scoop with higher total volume, for angle flying.
  • Innie-Outie (Base mode) – While in BASE mode, harness is entirely inside the chest compartment for less drag, and more glide (increased surface). There are no exposed holes when in BASE mode as the zippers close off the chest completely.
  • Innie-Outie (Skydive Mode) – While in skydive mode, handles are completely exposed at the chest and easy to access.
  • Rad – Rapid Arm Deployment. An incredibly simple arced cut at the wrist makes it even easier to both reach your PC at pull time, and your toggles during opening. Also makes the BOC pull safe and intuitive.
  • Get Stiffie – The bottom surface of the leading edge is Mylar-reinforced to maintain profile structure and proper feeding of the inlets.
  • Get Stretchy – flexible panels at the shoulders relieve stress on your suit during openings. Also, bar-tacks at key areas help to prevent seam failure.
  • Light Ribs – lightweight, durable, and more stable than mesh, Porcher Sport Skytex is renowned for its mechanical stability. Helps to reduce overall weight and pack volume.
  • Nutsack – A mesh leg wing pocket, for your nuts and stuff. Store your gear close to your center of gravity without having it affect the fit of your suit.
  • Glideskin – This highly flexible, durable, and wrinkle-free material is ideal for the leading edge. Static (non-flexible) internal construction prevents leading edge deformation, meaning that the arm is flexible at the wrist area, but the profile is stable.
  • Airtight Construction – All of our suits are built to the most exacting specifications, and tested for airtight symmetry in our production facility at multiple points along the construction process.
  • Super Sexy Zippers – We’ve ordered custom color YKK #10 Coil zips that will be standard on all suits, at no extra charge.
  • Hook Knife – Every suit comes standard with a Carbon Aero Jack hook knife installed on the front of the suit, in a location that is ideal

Swift 2squirrel_swift2_cartoon

  • New planform
  • New profile
  • New leading edge construction
  • New arm sweep
  • More R&D per square inch than any suit in its class

The SWIFT 2 is an entirely new design that brings the highest levels of efficiency and performance to the beginner-intermediate class. This is the most balanced and versatile beginner-intermediate design available, and represents a meaningful step forward in wing suit design.

Compared to the SWIFT, the SWIFT 2 has less surface area yet more glide performance, range, and speed. What this means is that the SWIFT 2 is easier to fly than its predecessor, and offers higher performance. This has been accomplished by increasing efficiency in the profile and planform.

The SWIFT 2 planform has less arm wing surface at the wingtip section of the span, increasing the aspect ratio and improving handling and ease of use. The wing root chord has been slightly increased, adding range and stability particularly in applications such as flocking. The added surface at the wing root enables smoother pitch adjustment and increases roll stability by supporting the pilot’s CG and hips. This also eases transitions from belly to back fly positions.

A new arm sweep and leading edge construction, taken directly from the FREAK, has reduced drag and improved agility. The SWIFT 2 feels considerably more compact than its predecessor, or any other wing in its class, thanks to these factors being combined with a profile adapted from the FREAK. The FREAK profile was chosen for its moderate thickness and excellent behavior across a wide range of speeds.

TRUE PERFORMANCEsquirrel_switch2_iamge

Traditionally, wingsuit manufacturers have added surface area to a design in order to increase “performance”. As surface area increases, so does difficulty. Surface area is the one factor in wingsuit design that cannot be cheated: if it’s bigger, it’s potentially more difficult to fly.

THE PILOT

The SWIFT 2 is designed for talented beginners, newer intermediate pilots, or more experienced skydivers who are transitioning to wingsuit flying. If you have low total jump numbers (i.e. just barely 200), or are looking for a conservative approach to wingsuit progression, we recommend the HATCH for your first wingsuit flights. The SWIFT 2 is a beginner-intermediate suit that you will never outgrow. Even when you move up to a larger, high-performance suit, you will still want to keep your SWIFT 2 for acro, backflying, and high-speed cloud-carving with your friends.

THE RANGE

Versatility is a key tenet of the SWIFT 2 design. Arm and leg wing pressure can be adjusted via the internal wing zips, allowing a softer and more manageable ride for newer pilots, acrobatic pilots looking for rapid transition and ease in flips where wing area has to be rapidly compressed. With zips closed, the SWIFT 2 delivers the range, performance, and stability needed for high or low speed flocking.

INLETS

The SWIFT 2 inlets are adapted from our newest high-performance suits, and feature a more efficient intake with less drag than the original SWIFT. Back-fly inlets are offered as an option, and make the SWIFT 2 a fun and agile suit for freestyle flying and steeper, more advanced, formations.

LEADING EDGE

Leading edge construction is a complicated matter in wingsuit design. Performance can be enhanced by creating a rigid structure over the arm, but this results in a significant reduction in passive safety. We have focused on this part of our wingsuits since the beginning of our development and we are constantly striving to create the best balance of comfort and performance. The SWIFT 2 leading edge is adapted from the FREAK, and features a grained non-flexible main arm segment with a flexible Glideskin arc at the wrist for BOC and riser/brake toggle access. The interior is finished in Lycra, which provides a smooth surface for skin or clothing to slide across, and houses the optional leading edge foam. Never underestimate the importance of an easy pull and access to your risers. Brake and riser access is a learned skill: practice it thoroughly!

We designed a suit for which arm cutaways are unnecessary, BOC access is clean thanks to the extended wing root that helps to prevent the trailing edge from covering your PC, and risers / brake toggles can be accessed without unzipping.

Features

  • Slick and Supple Leading Edge – The majority of the leading edge is covered in a durable and wrinkle-resistant grained vinyl layer. We moved the arm zipper location on the wing chord which increased the amount of “effective edge”.

  • Glideskin Wrist – This highly flexible, durable, and wrinkle-free material adds some flexibility to the wrist portion of the leading edge. The profile is solid, and the flexible wrist makes pull-time more comfortable.
  • Airtight Construction – All of our suits are built to the most exacting specifications, and tested for airtight symmetry in our production facility at multiple points along the construction process.
  • Carbon Fiber Grippers – This comes standard on the Switch 2. Ultralight and ultra stiff, these gripper sticks feel and perform better than any material we have tried.
  • Super Sexy Zippers – We’ve ordered custom color YKK #10 Coil zips that will be standard on all suits, at no extra charge.
  • Hook Knife – Every suit comes standard with a Carbon Aero Jack hook knife installed on the front of the suit, in a location that is idea.

Funk 2squirrel_funk2_cartoon

  • More power, agility, speed
  • Same comfort and ease-of-use
  • Smaller, more efficient planform
  • Adjustable internal pressure
  • Improved transition / carving behavior
  • Improved stability at steepest angles

The new FUNK 2 is a simplified evolution of the FREAK. We took design elements from the FREAK, including sweep, profile, leading edge construction, and profile thickness, and applied it to a new planform based on the original FUNK. The result is a suit with the same fun and forgiving character as its predecessor, but with significantly easier transitions, a higher top speed, and better glide performance.

The FUNK 2, like the original FUNK, is an excellent suit with which to progress through the intermediate stages of wingsuit flying and build the foundation needed to fly big suits.

Our favorite aspect of the FUNK 2 is how easily it adapts to the most common types of wingsuit skydiving, mainly Flocking and Freestyle. For intermediate pilots, there is not a better suit with which to rack up airtime and learn the finer points of formation flying, steep angle flying, carving, and back flying.

Overall, the FUNK 2’s planform lends itself well to intermediate pilots learning more aggressive maneuvers, steeper angles, and rapid transitions, due to initiation and recovery being so manageable. We love how simple and easy this suit is. With no grippers and its short leg wing, we can easily set up floating exits, climb around on the heli skids, take multiple steps on a BASE exit, easily take docks in flight, and throw multi-way linked exits out the door. Straight up, it’s the funkiest suit we’ve flown.

Freaksquirrel_freak_cartoon

The FREAK is the only suit with agility and precision for advanced acro / freestyle flying and also enough power and performance to handle modern wingsuit BASE jumps. Whether you are just progressing with backflying in the skydive environment or taking advanced freestyle flying into the mountains, the FREAK is the only suit that spans these disciplines of wingsuit flying.

For avid wingsuit skydivers, the FREAK is the ultimate dropzone suit. It has enough surface area to party with high performance designs and a small and agile enough feel to carve serious maneuvers at steep angles comfortably. As you steepen your angle of attack in the FREAK, the suit maintains stability and pressure, requiring little physical effort to maintain.

The FREAK is a powerful, high-performance freestyle/acro wingsuit, designed for pilots of intermediate ability and up. Our mission for the FREAK was to create a suit with a high level of agility and ease of use, yet with enough power and glide performance for high speed formation flights and technical wingsuit BASE jumps.

Colugo 2squirrel_colugo2_image

Big Suit Performance, Little Suit Handling…

The Colugo 2 has the highest ratio of comfort to performance that we have ever felt in a wingsuit. No other suit delivers so much speed and power with such ease of use – every pilot who has experienced this suit so far has said the same thing to us: It feels and flies like a little suit, but the speed and performance is equal to the most advanced suits out there.

The release of the C2 was delayed until after the RedBull Aces event, where new technology in this exciting suit made its debut and was tested by Squirrel team pilots. Andy Farrington took first place flying a prototype that included key innovations present in this new design, including leading edge mini-ribs and a new hybrid leading edge construction.

The new Colugo 2 is significantly smaller in surface area than its predecessor. It features a new arm wing profile and leg wing design, new planform, and a new type of Dacron coated leading edge construction, with a flexible segment at the wrist.

We are very excited about this new suit and the delay in releasing it is a direct result of us having a bit too much fun with the testing, and wanting to push the progress as far as possible before releasing it. The core mission for the Colugo 2 is to provide a fast and agile suit for advanced-intermediate to expert pilots.

C-Race

squirrel_c-race

The performance of the C-Race has now been thoroughly proven in competition. Since the run-up to the first Red Bull Aces event, we have been working full time on race prototypes. Our initial efforts were well received by our team pilots, who scored highly at the inaugural Aces, with Andy Farrington in first place overall.

In 2015 and 2016, the C-RACE swept the podium of every major wingsuit speed race. The overwhelming results demonstrate quite clearly what the C-RACE can do. The C-RACE series is race specific with a focus on top speed and glide performance. It is designed for all aspects of wingsuit speed racing and is meant for expert pilots. Its CG and profile are optimized for speed and the suit is stable at steep angles of attack. The efficiency of the leading edge and the amount of surface area is calculated for maximum horizontal speed at race course flight angles.

Who is it designed for?
Pilots who aim to compete in wingsuit races, either BASE or skydive.
Is it competitive?

It won every race, what more do you want? Each version of the C-RACE series is flown against recent suits from other manufacturers before release.

Do I want one? Am I qualified to jump it?

If you have to ask, then the answer is probably no. You should be an expert wingsuit pilot with several years in the sport, and hundreds of flights in equivalent “big suit” designs.

CR+

squirrel_cr2_image

The CR+ competition suit is designed in collaboration with our world champion, national champion, and world record holding team pilots. With feedback and data provided by our team, we strive to evolve the CR+ constantly so as to maintain a competitive edge over other available suits.

The CR+ CG and profile are optimized for energy retention in the competition window. Its flare-power is unmatched in the wingsuit world, allowing pilots to nick the top of the competition window and flare hundreds of feet above it, extending time and distance scores. At high speeds, the suit is stable at steep angles of attack. The efficiency of the leading edge and the amount of surface area are calculated for an optimal balance in time, speed, and distance tasks. With so many top pilots flying the CR+, the wingsuit competition playing field has been effectively leveled, allowing pilot skill to become a major determining factor. If you want to compete with the best, then choose the winning tool.

Aura 2

For the world’s most demanding BASE jumpers…

squirrel_aura_image

The AURA series is the ultimate custom tool for short starts and precise lines of terrain flight in the BASE environment. It is designed specifically for the world’s most demanding wingsuit BASE jumpers. If you take wingsuit BASE jumping very seriously and have put in the time and the training, then the A2 has what you’re looking for.

  • Shortest start arc
  • Pull / brake access remains comfortable
  • Increased speed over A1
  • Increased glide performance over A1
  • Less physical, with a more rigid feel
  • Improved handling

The AURA 2 retains all of the characteristics that have made the original AURA the most popular wingsuit in BASE jumping, but builds on the AURA legacy with significant performance improvements. Our mission for the A2 was to create a suit that was as comfortable as the original AURA, but with increased speed and glide.

The design brief for this new suit was simple: increase speed and glide, without increasing surface area or reducing comfort and ease of use. We are confident that the A2 will exceed the expectations of the many pilots who have been waiting for this suit.

What AURA pilots will notice first about the A2 is a feeling of increased power and reduced effort. Higher efficiency has increased start arc performance and glide. Thanks to reduced drag and a refined arm and leg wing profile, the A2 is faster at all angles.
